First produced by Dr. Martens in the early 1970’s- the 2976 boot, has its origins all the way back in 1851 when it was patented by Queen Victoria’s shoemaker J. Sparkes Hall. Worn originally as a horse riding boot which then became popular as both an agricultural work-wear and walking boot as they could be easily removed and put back on again due to the elasticated gusset on either side of the boot. Crafted from a naturally milled, heavyweight leather with a waxy finish sitting on top of our signature air cushioned sole. Material: Leather.

This classic Dr. Martens boot will do well keeping your feet in style and in total comfort in the big city. This is a Goodyear-welted product using PVC for the welt. The upper and sole are sewn together, not merely glued, like many footwear constructions. This, together with our Z welt-stitch and heat-sealing process, makes it unique to Dr. Martens. This is the only construction that is stitched on the outside and helps footwear take the shape to the foot. The welt is chain stitched to the upper and insole. The outsole is then sewn to the welt around the edge and then heat sealed. This is the sturdiest and most complex of all constructions. Material: Leather.
