- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2015UPDATE: My second time out affirmed my first review that these are excellent. This time it was 20 degrees out and I happened to step through the marsh again up to my knee. Water got into the boot, but was dry in a matter of minutes. My pants and sock were a little damp still at the end of course, but I had nearly forgotten I had even gotten wet by the time we left. This was only about a half an hour into our trek so I completed the day. These will probably not keep you warm if you're sitting in a stand however, so you may want to get super thick socks or go with the 7mm styles.
It didn't take me long to get these into the field. I put on 6 miles through the wildlife refuge and marsh on Saturday while pheasant hunting. First off, I went with the 10 as I am a 9.5 in most shoes and a 9 in most dress shoes and boots. The 10 is a perfect fit and allows for a thick wool sock to be worn. These are comfortable for the entire trek and come up to just below my knee. The neoprene is 3.5mm thick, but kept my feet toasty, although it was an unseasonably warm 45 degrees out. I can see these being warm enough anytime I'll be out hunting and moving around, but you may want to go with a thicker set if you're going to be in extreme cold or sitting in a stand. The rubber outside held up to very thick brush and reeds while walking in a few inches of marsh. I accidentally put these through a full test when I stepped into the creek that was much deeper than I thought, so water up past the boot and into the boot. I thought I'd have a big problem after that, but surprisingly,my feet dried while walking in about 10 minutes. I have no idea where the water went, but between the wool sock and the wicking inner, my foot felt almost completely dry! Pretty cool stuff.
The outer shells of the shoe managed to stay almost completely clean. The water does bead off it and only had a few wet leaves stuck to the rubber part. The neoprene stayed wet for a few hours after, but I put them in front of the fan for the night and they're ready to go again. These can be a bit hard to get off, but I just step on the heel and pull. The added security in the ankle surely kept these boots on my through the muck a few times where the Bogs I had would have slipped off. Overall, an excellent boot.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2014November 2014 UPDATE:
Mud. Sticky, clay mud is an issue. These boots cake it on. I didn't realize till too late the first time I had to walk through a clay-heavy crop field and got up in the treestand. Once I was up there long enough for the mud to dry, and I stood up, an avalanche of dried mud kept falling from the soles. There was nothing I could do except try to be very, very still. This is sort of a big issue when you're trying to bowhunt and silence is your best friend. Lacrosse really needs to work on the tread design on this boot; the Alphaburlys don't have this issue. But I do still love this boot. I just hate that I have to try and "there's-no-place-like-home" heel click the boots clean before I get up a tree.
These boots are like walking on cushions. Flexible, squishy, light-weight, warm cushions. Seriously, I could walk in these all day.
Since I'm a girl with narrower ankles, I guess I don't have the problem the other folks have about getting the boot off. But I will warn you that if it's above about 65* outside, these are going to make your shins sweat. They are very nicely insulated.
I recommend these for hunting, mucking stalls, trail walking, puddle jumping, and walking to the mailbox. The bottoms are pretty bulky, so squeezing them through the stirrups on my Viper climbing stand is a bit tricky at first, but it's easy to get used to.
I normally wear a women's 9 sneaker, and I ordered an 8 in this boot, and the fit is a little loose with light socks, but it's not uncomfortably loose--not with heel slipping or anything--and with thicker socks, the fit is snug.
Out of the box, the rubber smell wasn't too bad at all, but I did let them air out outside for a few days.
These boots are so light weighted. My husband has the LaCrosse Burly Classics, and these are much lighter at the foot and overall. More insulated, too.
Oh, and if you're concerned at all about the flexibility of the rubber on the front, don't. The rubber is extremely pliable. I can run, squat, jump, and drive a stick shift in these with no problem at all.
I 100% recommend for you to GET THESE BOOTS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superbes bottes

2.0 out of 5 stars Leaked in 1.5 seasons but very comfortable.
Purchased Sept. 2015, hunted that fall and during this fall the boot leaked on the right ankle half way through the second hunt. Two seasons and thats it with extremely light use. They are very comfortable and great for walking. My feet were never cold until cold water came in. Go with under armour Huw. That's what I had before and they lasted 4 years of every day use.
No rips or punctures, no sign of cracks or anything else. It seems that the leak is at the neoprene / rubber seal but I can't find any sign other than water. I believe the neoprene must have cracked along that seam.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfort zone
Beautiful boot in terms of design and comfort. I guess I should have did a bit not research into Lacrosse's products first. Boot come in 3.5ml and 7ml neoprene. Given the cold climate Iive in the 7mm would have been a better choice. But... I ended up with a very comfortable Fall hunting boot which is really what I wanted.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very tuff boots.
Second trip out into the field, PUNCHED a hole through the bottom of the sole. Was walking across a frozen downed corn field. It was crunchy underfoot and the I felt something pushing up between my toes. Got to my stand and removed my boot to fine a small piece of wood had gone through the sole/insole. I will be contacting LaCrosse about these boots.
Undate...........
Contacted LaCrosse. This is not covered. They will do nothing....Be warned!!!! Don't buy these boots.
