Customers find these boots to be a classic style with vibrant colors and quality leather, comfortable like slippers, and appreciate their value for money. The fit receives mixed feedback, with some finding them a half size down accurate for foot width and length, while others note they run large. Durability and leather quality also get mixed reviews - while some say they will last forever, others mention they take time to break in, and while some praise the butter-like leather, others find it stiff.

A Must Have Boot for Anyone! Essential IMO

A Must Have Boot for Anyone! Essential IMO
Clark’s Desert Boot is a “must have” boot & all should own at least 1 pair, in my opinion. They never go out of style & are versatile enough to be worn for many occasions. I have been wearing another pair, in the taupe brushed/distressed suede, for 7 years & they are still a good boot I will continue to wear. Despite what some may assume or say, the crepe sole last a long time & are more durable than you would expect. They are extremely comfortable, especially after you break in. I’ve wanted the Beeswax Desert Boot for a while ,so finally ordered & received them. The shipping was slow , even for free shipping, but well worth the wait. They have a very nice & unique finish, quality leather & have a somewhat worn or distressed look after wearing them just the first time. You have to expect that look with the type of leather the beeswax Desert Boot has & is part of the appeal of them. These seem to require a little more time to break in compared to the suede, but expected w/ a firmer leather. The light crepe sole will get dirty immediately but it doesn’t look bad or noticeable to anyone. I did have a little concern bc every pair I’ve owned had “Clark’s Originals Desert Boot” printed on the insole. These just have “Clark’s “ in plain black lettering. A few other buyers confirmed that theirs had the same “Clark’s” lettering so that put me at ease. They are authentic so no concerns there. As others say, order 1/2 to a full size smaller than you wear in other shoes. I normally wear an 11.5 & have to go with 10.5 with Clark’s. I love the beeswax finish & will enjoy them for years to come. I didn’t give 5 stars bc the seller did not address my concern & if I could just rate them, I would give less stars but I don’t want their lack of customer service to reflect on Clark’s or the Desert Boot. If you don’t own a pair of any color of Clark’s Desert Boots... order some now!

I love these boots. They are lightweight, comfortable, look great, seem well-made, and won't break the bank. The leather seems to be high quality and looks beautiful. Once they're broken in, they feel almost like slippers. The crepe sole is super flexible and springy, and very comfortable to walk on. What more could you ask for?

I will undoubtedly wear these until they fall apart, then buy another pair, and repeat!

That said, here's some sizing advice: I would suggest ordering these one-half size smaller than you usually wear. Some reviewers say to order a full size smaller, but for me, that would be too much. I usually wear a 10.5, and I bought these in a 10; they seemed quite snug at first, but after a few weeks, they fit like a glove! They also seem to be relatively narrow shoes, so if you usually wear wides, you might want to stay away.

The only small negatives: They provide almost no arch support; my feet don't mind this, but yours might. Also, the crepe soles turn black and look filthy after just a week. Oh well - people don't see the bottoms of your feet all that often. Finally, they don't seem to breath all that well, but that might just be the way all-leather shoes are.

As far as care goes: I have been inserting Woodlore cedar shoe trees immediately after taking my boots off each day, and I think this will help greatly in keeping them looking great for a long time to come. The Clarks site suggests using a conditioner/protector with oils and lanolin, so I applied some Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam (which contains lanolin, oil and beeswax). It darkened the boots a shade or two, which I'm okay with, though I prefer the original color - so be careful. It did provide the conditioning and protection I was looking for, though.

So... buy a pair now - you won't regret it!

Im relatively new to the whole ordering shoes online thing. This has been first shoe purchase and I can say im pretty happy with it. I have been recently changing my entire wardrobe from sneakers, tshirts, and hoodies to button downs, sweaters and boots. I was a bit hesitant at first, however after hours of research on style from websites such askmen, reddit, etc I felt pretty confident buying a clarks desert boot. I checkedout a few other products clarks had to offer and found that this type of shoe was probably one of the more stylistshoe amoung them all. The fit was great, pretty comfortable even though it doesnt appear to be, and the quality of the shoe is fantastic I can feel that this shoe is going to last me a long time. I also like how easily I can slip on the shoe and just walk right out the door. Some cons: you will have to break the boot in,the back lip of the boot was a bit irritating at first. The surface of the shoe can be easily scratched so youll notice a few marks here and there but overtime theyll blend right in with the rest of the shoe. I didnt know this but apparently the bottoms of the shoes will turn a blackish color after wearing them just once, its fine though you wont be able to see it from the sides of your shoe. Overal its a great buy. Its affordable, durable, and stylish. Matches with more outfits than you would imagine.

Over all I'm pleased with these boots. I wear them for work everyday and walk a decent amount in them, to and from the trainstation. They are pretty stiff right out of the box, but they break in after a couple hours or a day. The Beeswax leather will give/stretch a little if they are a touch tight in a certain spot (ie top of the foot near laces). Def a sneaky stylish boot as well. Can be worn with some work slacks or dressed down with denim. Comfort is ok, not great, but good enough that I never notice any discomfort throughout the day. I've had mine for about a week and feel that they will continue to soften up, mold to my foot and get more comfortable. They feel like they are built very solid.

Some things to be aware of, is they definitely run big. I usually wear a US 9 or 9.5 in most brands like Nike, Adidas, Saucony, New Balance, etc... but I had to get an 8.5 in these. The Beezwax leather version is also hot for the summer. They will probably be perfect for when the weather changes over to fall/winter/spring. I've also heard that the crepe bottom can get slick in the rain / wet weather, but I'm still yet to wear them on rainy day. Not sure how they will handle snow and ice either.

Overall a solid, to the point, boot with some style. Also for $80 they are tough to beat.

I don't normally make the effort to write reviews but I felt I had to for these boots. The first time I put them on they fit decently well, were moderately comfortable, and looked nice but didn't really blow my mind as they say. I wore these for my regular work week of 10 hours per day, 5 days a week, and in my job I am on my feet at all times, walking around. After just 1 week of this, the boots are now broken in and have conformed to my feet. Now they are the most comfortable shoes I ever have owned. I can wear these for 12 hour shifts and not feel any discomfort on my feet.

And, with some use and wear and tear they look even better than when they did new. Unreal. Not only that, but to my surprise I received compliments from my coworkers and other people I interact with. Although they are a simple design, I think it's the fact that it is a classic, clean design that makes people notice them.

In any case, I cannot believe I have been wearing sneakers all my life when there are boots like these that provide as much comfort and 1000 times more style. Makes any man look smarter and more stylish. These should be part of every guy's shoe arsenal as a stylish every day boot/shoe.

My only regret is ordering only a half size down. They are still a little big so I would order a full size down for the perfect fit. In fact, I already have!

Purchased these for a trip abroad, as they had great write-ups on various sites for comfort while doing a lot of walking. Great fit, were true to size, for me. They took a week to break in, did help them along with coconut oil. Really like the quality, would purchase another pair. Walked > 10 - 18k a day for a couple of weeks and my feet were very comfortable the entire time.

Absolutely love them; just waiting on my waterproof leather was before I start wearing them. When I tried it on, it was a snug fit; this should change once I've broken them in.
