- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2016I had to return this boot because it was far too small. The only sizes I had a choice of was about a half size smaller then what I usually wear, so it was a gamble for me, and I lost. I wear a 10-10.5d. I got these in a 9. They were about a full size too small, so keep this in mind. I know Danners run on the small and narrow side, but these being made before they started production in America I was hopeful.
The boot itself was well made, very solid construction like most Danner boots. What drew me to this particular boot was the lace up style. I have not seen the lacing system like this before and I loved it! It has double lace hooks on the bottom by the ankle, this is a very nice idea. The leather is top notch and the bottom soul is classic Danner, it will last forever! Well almost, My last pair of hiking boots lasted me five years. The adhesive and synthetic toe guard started to fail and the leather separated from the soul.
Danner is excellent quality and I recommend this boot to anyone! Just remember to get a half size to full size up.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2015I bought them for the woods hiking and realized they are nothing but a urban boot. Very comfortable, no ankle or arch support, leather is very soft and I only wore them a few times in the woods have sense turned them into the "mall hiker". I haven't had mine 4 months and I am looking for a replacement because they are already almost trashed. They also do not breath....get terrible athlete's feet with them and they stink worse than my real work boots! I am a forester, I have boot experience!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2016I broke a bone in my right foot and now my big toe rubs on the end of the boot. I will have to order a new pair. a half size or full size larger. Really nice support till i broke a bone. Its healed now.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2014Normally a size 8 and have even worn an 8.5. Ordered the 7.5 and it's a perfect fit. It's sturdy, yet, wearable out of the box. Yes, there is some break in time. Leather needs to morph to YOUR foot. It is not an uncomfortable break in. I wear it daily and anticipate this boot doing a great job for the long hauls on the Great Smokey Mountains trails. I own Danner and Vasque and usually keep them interchangeably. This was the replacement from my last purchase from 14 years ago. Doesn't this time frame say it all?
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2015Edge of toe cap, on left boot, digs into foot. Couldn't wear them longer than one minute. Left indention on the top of my foot and there surely would be blood if worn them for five to ten minutes. Probably will never consider danner products again. Unacceptable for a 300 dollar pair of boots.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2015Only time will tell if my rating holds. They seem to be very well made and rugged. The reason for only a couple of hours of comfort is the right shoe could last all day, but the little toe on my left foot becomes uncomfortable after a couple of hours and I have no idea why. The shoe is very smooth where the toe is and my toes do not feel cramped. I think the toe is just being difficult.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2015Great, warm boots for hiking in temps down to 25 degrees or so.
I was a bit surprised when my toe bottomed out, so they do run a half size small or so.
They feel about as high quality as it gets, for a reasonable price too.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2015Tongue folds cause some pressure point, so can't be worn all day without discomfort.
