Sad to say... Painful Blisters
I've owned Keen sandals before and absolutely love them. Just ordered the Chukka's and love them just as much. Took them a few days to break them in, but in typical Keen fashion...they're amazingly comfortable!!!

I own five other pairs of KEEN shoes, three of them being different versions of the Targhee II hiker, and I will continue to purchase KEEN because of the fantastic wide toebox and phenomenal cushioning. They don't last as long as some, they aren't as light as some, but when I need a comfortable boot I can wear in the city and in the mountain, for situations ranging from overseas travel to brisk trail running to tactical situations/training I have found none better than KEEN (with Merrell Moab coming in 2nd place).

This KEEN, however, is not your typical KEEN. It is the company's take on a hard rubber sole Chukka boot, and having owned Chukka boots by several other pricey manufacturers, I must say that KEEN did a fantastic job.

SIZE: As expected. I generally wear a size 11 in KEEN, and these fit fine with plenty of room for my orthotics and thick socks.

FIT: While these don't have the typical KEEN wide toebox, these are still very wide and I was actually a bit surprised when I took them out of the box. Another reviewer referred to these as "clown shoes" and while I do think that was overstated I do understand his sentiments. These are not your typical narrow dress boots. I have moderately wide feet--but fit D-width (medium width) in KEEN just fine--and these shoes in 11D fit me just fine. I would say these fit like an 11EE in most other conventional brands. Not huge, but not smashing my toes together and that's important to me.

SOLE: While this is a hard rubber sole, KEEN still manages to fit a little bit of cushion in and even the stock insoles are quite decent. Of course, I toss them out and use Superfeet Green or SOLE orthotics, but I still appreciate the effort.

MATERIAL: As is generally the case with KEEN shoes, and especially the non-hiker types, the quality of leather and other materials is phenomenal. The retail price of this shoe is $140 and you can see why.

ARCH: There's a little hint of an arch, which is a surprise with most shoes these days. In any case, I put orthotics in all of my shoes so it doesn't really matter to me, but for those of you who don't, this shoe does have a moderately discernable arch support with a very comfortable insole.

COMFORT: These were delivered to me about five hours ago so I've only had the chance to wear them around the house while cooking dinner, but I own a LOT of shoes (at present, about 45-ish pairs) and I'm pretty decent at judging how well a boot will fare after just a brief testing period. From what I can tell, this will be a good, tough, comfortable boot.

VERDICT: For those nights where I won't wear my Targhee II hiking boots--like date night in jeans or khakis--and I prefer to wear a nice boot or slip-on, I believe these boots will perform admirably without the usual aches and pains associated with cheaper/stiffer brands and variations (i.e., Skechers). And considering that I got these things for SIXTY BUCKS...yes, $60 DOLLARS, here on Amazon, I am a very, very, very happy traveler.

Fantastic looking shoes. I love the retro styling and the box toe. The wide box is reminiscent of older Keen shoes without taking the feature to an extreme.

The fit is very true, so you needn't worry about that. Keep in mind that my size is actually between a 10 and a 10.5, but it's a very comfortable fit for me.

My only problem is with the rather low clearance of the toe area. There's plenty of room for the front of the foot, but there could be a bit more room over the toes. I'm hoping that this will be remedied with the wearing. If not, I'll use some padding down front to stretch that overtoe just a bit.

Nice subdued padding around the ankle collar, as well. Makes the ankle fit very comfortable, but maintains the old-school chukka styling. Great shoe--I'm very pleased.

I had a pair before, loved the peanut color. However, I was disappointed with this pair you sent. The color was off on the toe part of shoe ( nearly black), and did not match the rest of the shoe.

Don't let the reviews kid you. These shoes carry on the giant bigfoot wide toe look that KEEN boots seem to have embraced. I ordered an 11M, these were extremely wide though the length was spot on. So wide in fact, that the lace holes nearly overlapped each other and there was no way to really tie them tightly.

They don't have the rubber bumper toe like many Keen boots, but they make your feet look huge. I was really hoping these were going to be comfortable - I've heard rave reviews about Keen boots but never liked the look with that wide toe, thought these might have the same comfort and less sasquatch. Nope, didn't happen.

...these are well made, look presentable, and do not have the characteristic Keen nose. The nose is a traditional standard shoe shaped nose. If I were to characterize these shoes I would say old school chukka's. The soles are hard rubber with a very stiff plate heel to toe. Your hard pressed to to flex these shoes out of the box. The leather is nice heavy gauge with a pleasant feel and look. I found the lack of forefoot padding a problem since I tend to hit foot to heal. The stiff sole did help but coupled with a smaller toe box I had to send them back. I considered ordering a larger size but I would like more forefoot padding....so I'll keep on looking...

Nice shoe Keen, fix the sole and I'm in....

Well, this boot is not your typical Keen. Out of the box, not quite as comfortable as the many other pairs of Keens I own. But, I expected that from the previous reviews . Fit is right on. I tried to find these to try on before ordering but I couldn't find a local retailer that had them. Decided to order and risk having to return them. No problems. They are true to the size. I probably own 15 different pair of Keen shoes, sandals, boots, etc. All the same size, all comfortable. These have a " break-in" period unlike a typical Keen pair of shoes, but it's quick. They look great and I'm happy to see Keen branch out from the "big toe" look. The quality is true Keen, you won't be disappointed.

The top of the boot is small and hard to get your foot into unless you loosen the laces ALL the way. Once in, the boot is really good looking and well made although it takes awhile to break in. Some blisters may form if you wear thin, dress socks at first.

Looks awesome. Broad footbed feels very powerful and masculine, which I like. Stitching has the same effect.
    Solid construction.
Great brand. This shoe seems to have the same quality level as other Keens I own.

    HMMM
Although it is comfortable, the footbed (insole) is not quite comfy as other Keen's I have owned. Other Keens have super cush footbeds. This one is fairly flat (minimal arch) and the padding isn't lush. That being said, the boot is still comfortable. I can wear it all day comfortably. Maybe not as great for constant standing as other Keens, but still very nice.
