I bought it from Gander Mountain, not from Amazon. The boots are light and relatively comfortable, waterproof. After about 5 trips to the woods the sole on the right boot started separating from the boot.

    I am an avid hunter. Most weekends will find me in the outdoors hunting. I hunt in a variety of terrain from deserts, to high mountains. I am rough on boots. The Shadow Trek boots are my favorite boots that I have ever hunted in. They are light which helps to minimize fatigue. They are very supportive which is not something that can be said of other lightweight boots. They are tough. I have yet to have one of these boots get cut even by sharp, jagged rocks.

    This is my second pair of these boots, but I know they won't be my last. They are currently lasting me between one and two years before I needed to replace them.

    My husband has steel plates in both ankles and horrible arthritis that is painful and limiting. He doesnt complain (to anyone but me) and he tries to do what a 26 year old man in s.e. okla is supposed to... hunt. These boots enable him to go out hunting on our mountains and hillsides, walk for hours, and haul a bunch of crap around. he says they are light, comfortable, and the steel shanks that are sewen in keep a lot of pressure off of his ankles. He is a big man 300lbs and loves these boots... of course you cant beat redwings workboot.. it only makes sense these are great boots made by redwing

    Super lite and comfortable. Only problem, they don't last.
    On my second pair.
    I hunt less than 30 days a year and they start coming apart at the end of the season.
    Multi applications of "shoe goop" and they last 2 years (60 days hunting)

They are a little stiffer than I thought they would be but they will be a great boot when I get them broken in more. I was surprised how light they are and they are really comfortable.

    These boots are way lighter than I expected. I would definitely recommend the thinsulate insulation. It does not really add to the thickness of the boot and it provides a little extra cushion. The only problem I had was the insole was wrinkled when it arrived. It took me about an hour of stomping around to get rid of the lump caused by the wrinkle.

    This is hands down the best hiking / hunting / outdoors boot I have ever come across. They are solid, built to last boots. I beat my everyday working outdoors as a wildlife biologist. They have seen snow, fire, and water. Little to no wear 6 months in of continuous everyday hard wearing. This boot fit perfect, not too big or too little. Keeps warm when cold, and do not get too hot when hot. I wear these with wool socks most of the time when to keep sweat to a minimum but I do wear cotton socks sometimes. I'll probably be ordering these again. I have a friend that has had this pair of boots for 8 years of occasional hard wear and they are still going, albeit they are fairly worn.
