This new duty offering delivers best-in-class durability, support, and cushioning right out of the box. It features a waterproof, polishable, full-grain leather and ripstop ballistic nylon upper that stands up to the job, and an all-new waterproof Danner Dry liner that pulls moisture away from the foot for all-season comfort. The cushioned comfort comes from a patent-pending, dual-density footbed, combining underfoot venting for maximum airflow and an Airthotic heel clip for support.     These boots are the excellent quality I expect from Danner, even though they are at a lower price point. The leather is the same high quality as on my $230 Danner Stryker II Ems (42930) boots. These Lookouts lace up easily with one pull after the lower eyelets are snugged up. The lining is high quality and made of some nylon type material that allows easy on/off and will not pill into those little fabric balls after wearing for a while. The only negative for me is that the ankle area (from ankle bone to the top) is really thickly padded--something I didn't want since I bought these for use in hot weather. I have since worn them in hot weather and I feel the insulation of that padding. They also took a few days to break in because of the padding, but my feet quickly made friends with them. I used the Brannock Device (that shiny metal foot measuring thing they use at shoe stores) to decide on size and both pairs of my Danner boots fit true to that. These Danner Lookouts are well worth the money, as other boots at the same price can be much lower in quality.
