I purchased these for a trip my son and I took back packing through Northern New Mexico. We lived out of our backpacks for a week and treked 50 miles. Great fit, support and comfortable all day. We were with a couple other dads and their sons. During our longest day, we went around 14 miles and climbed 1k in elevation. Most everyone ended up with Blisters. Those that used sock liners, did not.

Really like the boot BUT. they are too narrow ! after less than an hour of wearing my feet were getting numb.
The length is fine though, (although I selected "somewhat small" in the review tab selections)
I ordered a pair of the merrell shoes in wide, and they fir great.
But I cannot find where these are offered in wide also.
I am returning these, hopefully I can find them or another in wide.

Still breaking them in. I have big feet. Wider than most, but not Sasquatch-wide (like my sons feet - omg). These boots fit my feet a little on the wide side, but I'm able to tighten-them-up snug enough to be happy with the fit. It's better than having them even a fraction of an inch too narrow. I could always get thicker socks or double-up on socks if they were substantially too big (wide). I like the soles. Good grip & support. Just the right balance of protection of the bottom of my feet & still flex on rocky trails that would really hurt my feet in hiking "shoes". They've done good in the rain, but it's mid-July, and I've only had a few storms to test them in so far.

After about 12 years of sterling use my Jack Wolfskin boots suffered a catastrophic split in and detachment of the right sole. Having discovered the cost of a repair I made a further discovery; buying new boots was cheaper.

At least, they are if you buy these.

They arrived at 8:30 PM yesterday and were put to the test at 7:30 AM today. I walked about 10 kilometres and for the first five I found the boots supremely comfortable. In the second five one of my right toes began to feel sore, but when I examined the boot there were no protuberances to cause this. When I examined the toe it was clearly slightly proud of the remaining toes. So, I can’t blame the boot for the problem and I am now in search of a replacement toe.

Other buyers have suggested that these boots need to be ordered 1 size larger than a normal shoe fitting. I did this and it turned out to be excellent advice.

The boots have an attractive appearance and visually appear to be well made and are apparently robust. 10 kilometres is too little to test the boots fully; I expect to wear them for at least six months before coming to a firm conclusion.

So far they are more than I had hoped for and for £39 represent amazing value for money.

I am awarding them five stars with the proviso that a six-month review of performance may change that. So, I may be back.

Comprai un paio di Merrell quasi 10 anni fa' e devo dire che lo standard rimane d'eccellenza. Ottima imbottitura interna, piede asciutto e caldo ma senza dare fastidio in estate (scrivero' quando le provero' in inverno). La suola Vibram e' una garanzia su pietrisco erba e persino dentro le macchie nel bosco, tra fossi rovi rami bagnati caduti a terra ecc. Le prime volte il piede potrebbe tendere a scivolare in punta anche per via della generosa imbottitura della scarpa, ma e' solo questione di tempo, piu' le si utilizzano e' piu' si adattano al piede. Ottimo acquisto a 115 Euro. PS, prendete almeno una taglia superiore alla vostra.
