Only duty boots I prefer. The fit is true, and they are high quality. The boots are a little heavy, but I work as a firefighter so most of the time they are off when on emergencies. These are a solid, waterproof, easy on and off duty boot with good cushion and protection. I’m on my 3rd pair. Switched from 5.11 which were poor quality boots.
Only thing that I don’t like is that danner doesn’t repair broken side zippers, or my first pair would still be serviceable.

These are great boots lasted me two years
First thing I ordered These Boots January 17th 2017 had them for two years I just purchased another set the only issue is then we're coming apart by the soul These Boots are very comfortable not much of a break-in. The non-metal toe or composite toe saved my toes a couple of times I work as a corrections officer sometimes 8 or 16 hours a day, these boots have a lot of miles on them lot of tier checks with very minimal care I did use boot wax and polish a couple of times other than that not much care to him they've lasted me two years told yes I would recommend these boots

Real Leather Boot and Great Fit but Some Issues Likely With the Cheap Zipper on the Danner Boot
I work for Brinks and frequently work an 10 hour shift; so my work boots have to be both comfortable and rugged. I have bought both Danner and 511 boots in the past. Danner boots are MORE rugged compared to 511's due to real leather being used for the boot which does NOT tear. 511's use a synthetic material which tears much more easily when the boot is subjected to rugged use. The picture above is a photo of my current pair of 511 boots and the wear sustained from everyday use at work. Also the Danner's fit more like a glove, and are significantly much more comfortable.
Neither boot is water resistant despite the claim by both manufactures.
The real leather on the Danner Boot by the zipper may stretch over time (as real leather will do); and due to the cheap plastic zipper used on the boot, the zipper may break and need to be replaced. This occurred on my last pair of Danner's on both boots.
