Not Leather Chukkas; Poor Quality. Do Not Buy!
I've been wearing this shoe for a couple months and I have to say, I really wish I'd never purchased them. And that's a shame because these are a great looking chukka, but the quality of the material is just awful. I mistakenly thought I was buying a leather boot and the tongue says they are made of leather and simulated leather, but if you look at the photo I've included, the shoe cracks and reveals a white material underneath the thin "leather" veneer. Good quality leather does not crack like that. I would strongly advise against buying this shoe. Spend a bit more money and make sure you are getting a high quality leather. It will be a higher cost up front, but good quality shoes will last years longer.

    A very nice boot at a very good price. Look great with jeans or dress clothing. I bought a similar (same?) boot in brown from the same manufacturer about a year ago, and they became my favorite shoes. I'm caught between a size 8 1/2 and 9 so I always buy size 9. I also wear comfort inserts in my shoes. The brown pair fit just fine. After wearing the new pair all day at work with the inserts, they were a little snug but not at all uncomfortable. I'm sure they'll expand a bit as I break them in. I don't like the grey laces that ship with the boots, so I replaced them with black laces. It's really unfortunate that these shoes aren't better made because I like the look and feel so much. If you don't wear them as frequently as I did, they may last you longer but I've decided to go ahead and spend more on some Clark Desert Boots that will last me longer...wish I had done that instead of buying these.

    For the price (I bought mine for $50) these are a steal. They look fantastic and you can wear them with jeans or nicer pants. I would look elsewhere though if you're thinking about spending more than $100. The leather is a bit thin. Actually, at $100 I would still be happy but anything more .. I think you can do better.

    Also, yes - they do run large. I ordered mine a 1/2 size down and I think I could have gone down a whole size.

    I received these shoes just in time to fly to Vegas for a tradeshow, where I was on my feet talking to customers for three long days. I was amazed to find that these shoes fit the bill beautifully, and my feet suffered only mild soreness at the end of the week. No blisters, no pain in my heel. For a brand-new pair of dress shoes, that strikes me as pretty darn great in the comfort department.

    Plus, they are so dang handsome. My wife was thrilled with my dapper new look, and I got quite a few comments from people I interacted with at the show. They go beautifully with jeans or dress pants. Those who wear them with shorts will find themselves quite at home at a punk rock concert, where they might be confused with Doc Martens by fellow moshpit-goers.

    I really loved these chukkas when I first got them. They have a really stylish look to them and the luggage color matches with most everything I wear. I wear them to work with chinos or slacks and wear them with jeans when I want to dress down a little. They are pretty comfortable, but the fit is large, I would recommend ordering a full size down. I'd love to give these shoes 5 stars however the quality is absolute garbage. I thought I was buying leather shoes as they are advertised as "smooth leather" however after just just a few months of limited wear the material across the toe box has cracked and shows a white material underneath. At the price they are selling at, I suspected I'd be getting low quality leather, but not the cheap vinyl(?) material that these are made out of. They are not worth it, even at the $50 price point they are selling for.

    I would not recommend buying these shoes and Amazon should change the description to be explicit about these not actually being leather.

They were wrapped in its original paper ( I think) but the paper itself was crumpled, and wrinkled. The bottom soles looked a tiny bit dirty. But for $20, I'll let it pass. I plan to wear them occasionally. They run big. 1/2 to 1 size down would be better.
