Nice boots, break in will be easy. Out of the Box comfort. Rides high over your ankles so you need to get used to some chaffing around that area, until you really break them in good. Rides nice, light and roomy toe box.

These hiking shoes are lightweight yet SOLID.

In the past I have owned Vasque Skywalk and Skywalk II's which I loved. But the tread had finally worn down and I thought it would be good to take a look at some newer models. I'm glad I did as these Chaco boots are very very comfortable, yet provide great ankle support.

Have used them to carry a daypack and hiked several miles i the Smokies, however, haven't yet used them for weekend backpacking. Based on my experience thus far I expect they will hold up great.

    - Very lightweight, feels almost like a sneaker
    - Very comfortable (almost no break-in period needed)
    - Waterproof feature seemed to work fine (have only tried out in a few small streams)
    - Lacing is easy yet provides good support (you can easily crank them really tight or leave them a little loose)

I'd not heard of the Chaco brand before but was able to try these on at a local outfitters and was amazed at the comfort. Found them cheaper on Amazon.

Overall, a great medium duty boot.

My love affair with Chaco started about 10 years ago. I was staying in a beach house near Charleston, SC and I decided to buy some sandals. I ended up buying what is today called the Z/1. They just felt great. I have used them every summer for 10 years and they're now getting a little worn around the edges. I bought a second pair last year, then a set of Brio boots and now I have purchased the Holbuck boots.

I have very flat feet and often suffer from foot pain. I find that all of the Chaco sandals and boots are very agreeable to my foot. I'd rather wear these than go barefoot.

As for the Holbuck, they looks fine, they're light weight, well made, and they feel great. If I needed another pair of boots, I would buy these again.

I really like these boots and use them when out and about in the snow mostly. The only negative is that I have to keep the top of the laces loose, or it puts pressure on some tender parts of my ankle. But, even with the top being somewhat loose, they still stay solid on my foot without moving around. They have typical Chaco feel/comfort. I describe this as they're not squishy or "comfortable" when you put them (like Crocs or something) but, my feet feel good all day long. I love Chacos for when I'm going to walking a lot. I don't like them as much for just standing around.

I wasn't happy with the appearance and after wearing them for a short period of time they were chafing my ankle.

not wide enough compared to a 2E. would fit D width I presume.

Never owned this brand before, so far good support and stiffness. Previously owned Keens which fit well but last couple fell apart quickly. Merrill's fit narrow and always hurt my left foot no matter what size/width. Vasques have fit well. These have ample room but aren't sloppy fitting at all. There is more of an arch than many brands, but I have to put in supplemental support in any shoe, even Crocs. It'll be another couple months before they're broken in. But for me its how long they go before the sole splits. Not a fan of the nylon loop lace eyes which have worn through on a few other brands i've owned.

Formerly bought other brands (e.g., Columbia) but really happy with these Chaco's. Arch support is nice, shoes are comfortable (I have been wearing them for 3 days straight at a standing desk), and the waterproof feature has been great, as I've been walking in the snow from the blizzard that just hit the Northeast US. (And I normally need to break in boots like these, due to posterior heel spurs, but nothing is rubbing against the back of my foot.)

Can't wait to try their other models.
