Of box. Seem very well made. After wearing them around house for 1/2 day to insure comfort did a 3 1/2 mile steep uphill hike with no discomfort. Headed for Ecuador in 2 weeks where I can test waterproofability and wear qualities.

I almost sent these back. The day they arrived I put these on and walked around the inside the house. I thought the left one was going to be too tight while the right one felt good. It also didn't take long for my feet to start to sweat so I took them off.

I wore them outside in temperatures form 30 to 50 (F) and they felt good. I've put in ten miles on them so far and I've changed my mind. As I bought these to walk outside in colder weather anyway, they look like they will do exactly what I bought them for. I was also able wear them in the truck and in stores without any sweating. I've only walked in wet grass so I can't confirm exactly how water proof they are, but they have kept me dry so far.

The quality looks good out of the box and they feel comfortable to walk in both on and off pavement.

As I never intended to wear this in the house anyway, so far now they are 4 star keepers.

This is an early review so don't make a decision base on just this review.

I will update when I really put these to the test.

Pretty much what I expected. I wanted a lighter 3/4 season boot that can still take a pair of crampons. I tramp in pretty varied conditions in the New Zealand bush and alpine areas so they tend to get a bit thrashed in the mud and on the rocks. Not what I would call waterproof but then I didn't expect them to be. So far have used them on a few 6+ hr day trips on wet bush tracks, volcanic rock, and along the beach while rock fishing. Heading off to Mt Tongariro this week so will give them a good workout before the snow season starts. Very easy to break in, plenty of ankle support , they take my wider foot with no toe cramping and found the insoles pretty comfy. I landed these in NZ for about $100NZ less than what I can buy them in the shops here. Lets see how long they last.
