- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2016THIS REVIEW IS INTENDED TO DISPEL A FEW MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THIS BOOT.
This review was created the day after I received my pair of Under Armor Valsetz boots. This review will be updated at some point in the future.
First and foremost - this is NOT a workbook in the sense of your typical construction site needs. In some areas on the bottom of the boot, it is less thick than the length of roofing nails. So in my book, if a boot sole cannot even stop a roofing nail (which has the tendency to land upright) from stabbing the bottom of your foot, then it's not intended for construction site use. (Some spots on the sole aren't even one inch thick.)
From the reviews already given, around five months seems to be the max age for these boots IF worn and worked in at heavy-use-required sites like construction sites. I deal with pest control so you'll undoubtedly understand the significance of the next few aspects of these boots as they pertain to myself, but hopefully they'll help you with your decision as well. However from my perspective, the construction provides a feeling of strong quality to me personally. I honestly would not expect these boots to fall apart on me after only 5 months but time will tell me either because of simply how they feel and look so far or something in the construction of these boots has improved.
Moving on to the overall design of the bottom of the boot - it's mostly flat with little difference of profile. The majority consists of flat grip protrusions and near the front are small and narrow protrusions which seem to function decently on slightly more loose terrain if you make sure to step with about 60-70+% weight on your toes. More notably though, this provides an extremely soft and low-sound step for the most part and if that's what you want. A normal step in these boots will still be more quiet than your general work boot which is even more so when your take into account the overall weight of this boot.
This takes me to the next part - the weight. I'm a size 12 US male. I would have thought that these would weigh the same if not a bit less from the reviews. But they weigh next to nothing compared to other boots I've had from Wolverine Caterpillar. And in the end, they turned out to be quite snug fitting as well. Little wiggle room but your feet won't feel like they're being strangled.
Then for support - there's not much in the way of actual arch support. But the instep support is definitely noticeable. I've walked a total of seven miles miles today and my feet don't feel half as bad as they have in other boots.
Did I mention the price? Next to nothing compared to most other boots of similar quality. As I said, I'm a size 12 US male and these cost me $90 minus shipping.
OVERALL - get these boots. Perfect for if you just like something that feels light but utilitarian on your feet, if you're in pest control so you don't scare the pests too much so you can observe better or even if you're in a site security job. I have a friend who works in private security and I'm definitely going to mention these to them.
Just don't drop heavy things on them when in use or step on nails because they'll easily stab through the sole into your feet.
-UPDATE 1/25/2018
Not a damn thing wrong with these boots. I'm re-looking through some of the negative reviews for this boot - maybe I'm lucky. Maybe it's just the law of averages, but these boots haven't let up or faulted in any way for me in any way.
The only thing is that, though with almost every boot, the inner lining material between your heel and the backing has become worn. But even this is an indicator of how a normally, good boot is supposed to react with heavy use.
I've worn these boots almost every day since I bought them with the exception of holidays, weekends, etc..
Good boot.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2015Size: 10Color: Coyote Brown/Coyote BrownVerified PurchaseComfort is the key. And if it were the only key, these boots would have 5 stars. These are the most comfortable duty boots I've ever owned or worn.
Their huge down fall however is their DURABILITY (or lack thereof). You'll see through other reviews that this is a recurring theme. And with good reason. Try boots within ONE week started to cracked and peel on the outside walls of the boot. Way premature, considering the amount that I used them, the time that I'd had them and the money that I paid for them.
Would I recommend them? For comfort yes but for the most durable, at this point, I have to say no. We'll see if Under Armour will honor their fabled "Lifetime Guarantee" on these or not. In my experience, companies love to weasel out of these guarantees. But I'll keep updating for more details that can hopefully help in your buying decision.
***UPDATE***
So, I contacted Under Armour regarding returning my 6 month old mangled boots (premature if you ask me). They sent me a Return Authorization form. In the form it stated that I would be contacted for any additional fees. Well, I was not contacted (except for some helpful email updates) and I was NOT charged. However, I received (today) a BRAND NEW pair of boots! THIS IS AMAZING! Today, in a world where things are "meant to be thrown away" and companies so rarely seem to deliver on their promises of "Lifetime Warranties" and exceptional customer service. Under Armour, the company itself, makes these boots a 5 star boot. Any company that stands behind their products and especially one that takes care of their customers to such a great degree, is worthy of my hard earned money 8 days a week! I will from now on recommend these boots to anyone that asks as the best tactical boot available on the market! As an entire company, Under Armour, has my respect. The way that they conduct business has COMPLETELY skyrocketed my view of them and their products after seeing this brand new pair of boots delivered to my door, no questions asked, JUST because I was a customer of theirs. Making these boots totally worth the price tag. Truly customer oriented. I believe, now, that this is a rare company. Rare and awesome. Under Armour Will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simplemente perfectas

4.0 out of 5 stars Évaluation dés chaussure Under Armor Vatselz

5.0 out of 5 stars ein Traum
