I would buy them again. After 2 years of heavy seasonal wear I just got them back from the cobbler for new heels (just the thin cap - not the entire heel) and replacement elastic straps on the buckle which were in very bad shape. Cost was $28 so boots were well worth preserving. So my boots are 10.5 in black leather. Boots fit me fine and my foot is 10.5 C in size. Right out of the box the leather was soft and boots didn't take much breaking in. Soles are decent in snow and ice and wear well. Not the most durable but that is the trade-off with comfort. I put these boots into a warm oven for 5-10 minutes and then put waterproofing oil on them at least once a season. The leather soaks it up, stays soft and is fairly resistant to salt. They are now very broken in and very comfortable. Liner is in tact and they still look and feel great.

    These boots are great. They look amazing and fit well (albeit slightly larger than a sneaker as most boots seem to be). My one complaint are that they are very uncomfortable before they're broken in. The day after I got them however, I was moving into my new home and it had snowed 10 inches the night before, so they got broken in quickly after that. I've owned Steve Maddens, Brookstones and Docs and these compare to all of them as far as comfort and they seem pretty durable so far.

    This is one of my favorite pair of boots. It took Amazon over a week to ship it to me via free shipping but yes, it is worth the wait.
    This is not the most comfortable boots out there, but definitely one of the most stylish and well made ones. I teach two classes back to back so I have to stand on them for over 3 hours today. Honestly, My feet are a little sore after that. The trade-off you'll have to make for this style is the comfort of course. Again, it is worth it. Caterpillar has done a great job here.

    Inner lining behind the heel split and the plastic part that holds the heel part of the shoe together came out and dug into my skin. Other parts of the lining fell apart too. Outside is beautiful and very nicely made. Inside is complete crap. It's too bad, I really liked this for the first month or so.

This is all exactly what happened to the first pair I owned, and I bought another because I loved the style so much.

    I expect shoes to deteriorate when you wear them every day, but this is really too much. I wish I could find a pair of Red Wings or otherwise that look the way these do.

    My husband had a similar pair of Caterpillar boots that he wore everyday for years until they started falling apart. We had a lot of trouble finding a replacement for them until we found these. They are a great combination of rugged and smart. The buckle detail remains hidden under his pant cuff most of the time but with a slimmer cut pant it shows a little. The are holding up well so far after 3 months.

    So, I waited after about 3 months to write this review, because I wanted it to be better.

    Pros:
    1. Looking good. I like the look, as the toe as it is a slimmer profile, and not clunky. It could pass as casual or dressier. I even had a few compliments.
    2. Seems to be well made so far.
    3. The boots are $50 cheaper on Amazon than Zappos.

    Cons:
    1. For me, the shoe is too narrow. I could not order another size up, as the length is correct. My feet are not wide enough to warrant another shoe width, but maybe more than average? I'm not sure. I suffered some days in the hopes of the leather stretching, and wore thicker socks to help. It has worked some.
    2. There is no insole at all. It is a thin piece of fabric glued to the sole. Very thin. There is not enough room for a larger insole like the gel ones, so I had some leather insoles from a previous pair of shoes I put in there. That was better. But before, it was like standing barefoot on a piece of wood. I am not sure how the other reviewer said the boots were comfortable for 8 hours of walking out of the box.

    So there it is. I would probably not buy these boots again, if given the choice. I love boots, and wanted a dressier pair than my Timberland Earthkeepers, but still manly looking. They fit the bill, but as a boot needs to be comfortable, these are not so comfortable.

    I will continue to use mink oil on them, and may take them to have stretched.

    Buy at your own risk, and if you receive them, make sure they will work for you before wearing outside.

    Returned because it was too small (I ordered 1/2 size bigger than my foot). I also wasn't thrilled about the heel, it's too high and makes for an uncomfortable posture. This is totally a personal preference thing, you may find it comfortable, but I didn't.
