I have a very old and different pair of Timberland chelsea boots that I have worn for about 8 years until the soles started separating and water comes in at the seam. They were great boots and I considered getting them resoled, but decided to buy these instead. Looks wise, there is no comparison between the old and new boots. The old ones look more expensive and better made, but unfortunately Timberland doesn't make them anymore and these were the closest option. I'm not really a fan of the fabric panel on the sides, but a lot of manufacturers are doing that. For the price these are descent boots. They are waterproof and are comfortable and I'm hoping they will hold up as well as my last pair. My one concern is how hard they are to get on. I have to pull pretty hard on the back loop and I'm concerned it is eventually going to pop off. The boots fit well and come off easily so it isn't a matter of getting a bigger size because they would be too big then. If they do fall apart or something breaks, I'll be sure to update my review.

Love these boots. Kinda hard to get on and off though, the heel is pinched by design and there is great difficulty putting them on and taking them off the first dozen times. But as you break the crease with every donning, the application and removal gets easier. Really good looking boots and waterproof to boot. Very warm too. Not much grip in icy conditions though.

The boots are very comfortable. The problem is the way Timberland designed the lining inside of the boot. It's like they tried to copy a Nike basketball shoe, where you slide your foot into a lining that is almost independent of the shoe itself. This lining is stitched to the inside of the shoe, but wears out extremely quick around your heel. So as you continually take the boots on and off your heel digs into the lining. After about a month or so your heel gets caught in the lining, which starts to rip out. This is my second pair of these boots and this exact scenario has now happened to both pairs. The best way I have found to avoid this is to take them off using a shoe horn so you protect the lining around your heel. Again, in terms of comfort they are great. In terms of design Timberland went cheap and it really shows. They should be ashamed of replacing the previous version with this cheap knockoff.

I rarely right reviews & I love timbys & have 5 pair. I was look for a replacement of my favorite albeit discontinued MT Washington Chelsea waterproof boots.. I'm a 9.5 in every manufacturers shoe including timberlands. These are huge! Issue #1 size & fittment compared to my previous experience w/ timbys. Issue 2: what I love about the MT Washingtubs was how they are formed to the ankle so snow can't get in & so you can wear with jeans or suit pants.. The ankle opening on these is like a pair of bogs or hunting boots. Waterproof benifits go away when you can put an entire shovel full of snow between your ankle & boots., these are going back & I hope timberland brings back the mt Washington line in correct sizing.

The boot is very comfortable, particularly since I need a EE width. The boot is a typical well made Timberland. It's not a 5 star only because of its style. The Mt. Washington model is just as comfortable and much better looking. I rated the arch support as good, but it's good compared to other boots, not shoes.

Edit: After several weeks of use, I'm downgrading the boot from four to three stars, not because of comfort or wear (it's still a good boot in those regards), but due to appearance. I own several other boots, including those from Timberland, and these are definitely the homliest horses in the stable. The photo of the boot is a little deceptive, as the toe of the boot is definitely squared off with virtually no taper. This boot may be an option at a steep discount, but for the wide width folks, the Timberland Mt. Washington Chelsea model (noted above) or the Rockport Side Zip Motorcycle boots are just as well made, are far better looking, and in the same price range.

This pair of shoes is wearing very comfortable.. Leather material is hard, leather is very thick, protect the effect of the foot is good, the shoes work very fine. The shoe pad is made of composite material, it is very soft and elastic, and it provides good support.. Because the opening is smaller, the shoe is not too easy, but this kind of shoes are like this, also does not matter. Thick soles, wearing a very safe outdoor. To protect the ankle is better, because of the hard leather. Overall dress satisfaction.

Love them, but found the arch support weak. Went to REI and got an arch insert and now they feel great. Easy to slip on, especially with a long handle shoe horn. I take a dog and cat (yes, he goes with us) out 3/4 times a day and these are the boots I use for that. Needed the waterproofing because sometimes I take them out in wet conditions. I'm dry so that works well. Got them a little large so that I can wear them with thick socks in winter and thinner in summer. They still feel good no matter which size sock I use. When these go, I'll get another pair.

Very comfortable straight from the box. Took a few tugs to get them on first few times but that's to be expected.

Packaged well, in bag then a branded box.
