    I've gone on some tough backpacking treks up in Desolation Wilderness near Tahoe in these. They've been everything I could have expected and more!

    -Minimal break in time (First time wearing them, went on a 7-mile extremely rocky hike with no blisters)
    -Durable - can barely tell I've worn them to date
    -No weak spots
    -Held up well in light water - not water proof, but the water resistant aspect is as advertised
    -Great grip

    Pretty good quality and support . Works and fits as expected. Its water resistant not completely water proof.Already did 5 day long strenuous hikes within a month , found no issues, pretty comfortable. Looks like they will last for some time.
    The only Gripe is with Amazon pricing I bought for $88 with in 2 weeks it fell to $62. Amazon should price match atleast for a month.

    These boots are much better than advertised. From the first time I wore them they have been great. For my size 11 they seemed a little small but once broken in they fit like a glove. I wear them every day beginning with a 1.25 mile walk with my dog and then all day long afterwards. They can be a little warm but I wear them with thick cotton socks and they are fine. They keep my feet completely dry, even on a very rainy morning walk. Have never had a wet foot when wearing them. I am so satisfied with these boots I plan on getting a different pair of Merrels just for the winter. Before finding these boots I had very painful areas on my feet while wearing very well know walking shoes. In a matter of only a few days the pain was and continues to be a thing of the past. As for wear, I am 6' 2" tall and weigh 225lbs. and these boots show no sign of wearing out at all. I highly recommend these boots.

    These are outstanding boots, as expected from just about everything Merrell makes. They look really good, fit great, are super comfortable and extremely lightweight. My last pair (Moab mids) lasted close to 6 years and I have just as high hopes for these. If you're on the fence about buying them, go for it. You will have zero regrets. The day I received them we had 6 inches of snow on the ground, but my feet stayed warm and dry all day.

    No longer waterproof! I chose these waterproof hiking boots because of the aggressive tread and waterproofing. I have been wearing these for 7 months. After about a month, I had to replace the laces, because the original laces frayed and broke. To my surprise, the Walmart replacement laces are still intact. These hiking boots are for the most part, comfortable and light weight.The aggressive tread has be good for traction but the waterproofing is no longer waterproof. After my last hiking trip, I noticed water leaking in. Very disappointing! If Walmart can sell good laces for $4, surely Merrell could provide quality laces with their boots. More importantly, if you market a boot as waterproof, make sure it will remain waterproof for the life of the boot.

    I contacted Merrell about replacing these under warranty. They said that normally the easiest way to get them replaced would be through the retailer ,where I bought them. I contacted "Sole Place", the online retailer and they declined to accept a return. I am now attempting to return them directly to Merrell. If they don't replace them, I will never buy another Merrell product.

    I wish that I could rate boots higher. They are extremely lite, have great traction, very good arch support and excellent ankle support! I have a 6 milliliter ankle tendon tear that I can't afford to have taken care of. With these boots, I rarely have ankle pain. Plus, I only paid $65 for them in September.'
    Here's the negative!
    1) The tounges have No leather on them, this causes the Thin laces to create pressure points and dig into the top of my foot. (I need to wear them tightly laced) I had to buy some wide laces to be able to comfortably wear them.
    2) I've worn these quite a bit during the 6 months since I bought them. One of the rubber toe guards is now separating from the top of the shoe.
    3) The size is at least 1/2 size too small.
    They're also slightly narrow.
    4) They are not waterproof and a little to hot for as much reinforced mesh these boots have.
    5) The current price of $109.00 is to high, there are other Merrell boots that are much better and cost less.

    Excellent boots, but these are not even water resistant, let alone waterproof. Wore them on a two-day SAR exercise and had wet feet the entire time. Even a light dew will penetrate these boots. On the plus side, they are the most comfortable and fastest drying hiking boots I have ever owned. Will spray them with Camp Dry and keep on trucking.

    As others have noted Merrell seem to size small and perhaps if I'd known that I'd have bought a size bigger. That said I'm used to wearing two pairs of socks with these type of shoes/boots, so by only wearing one layer they fit OK. Heavier duty than I expected so taking some breaking in but looking good so far and certainly appear to be very well made.
