Top quality. Great looking boot. Kick ass
Boots are about the expected size. I have had these before a few years back and wanted to give them a try again. I doubt anyone will ever wear out the top of the boot. Now different story for the bottom. These are fairly heavy duty in the thickness of the leather and grain. And I just keep hydrophobic spray to keep them waterproof. I like them the soles are extremely durable. My calf aches wearing ankle socks unlike my redwing boots prior. The leather on the redwing boots is soft and supple, very comfortable for people who wanted ankle socks... and a vibram heel and toe guard keep im in good shape. Fantastic job on these boots. They are here to stay. Just about the time I get them broke in I buy another pair, almost need to install a toe guard on these boots but they just look great without them. Took me a year to wear that little tread off the bottom of the cleats of the tread. Love the ankle strap keeps them flexible when I crouch or walk around great idea. Lots of compliments on the way they look.

Hi ! I have been wearing Caterpillar Sheffields for more than 15 years and wanted to get higher boots so I bought a pair of Indiana 8".
I mostly wear them in my everyday life. Nothing to do with hard, outdoor work though. I'm an IT Engineer and spent around 15h at work, sitting in front of my desk. Those babies are really enjoyable to wear even when you happen to keep a sitting position for hours. The leather is high quality and softens a bit after a week.
Meanwhile, I walk at least 5kms a day to go to work, plus lots of stairs to access the subway. There I can feel their only weakness: weight (a lot of it is due to the steel toe i think).
Also, I do a lot of hard work in the countryside during my weekends and holidays. I mean construction, logging and other tough work. Although my pair of Indiana is new, I dont doubt they will last longer than my previous pairs of Sheffield. Indianas look and feel tougher, especially the sole and the upper part around the ankle which is cleverly laced and remains very comfortable. There you can feel their full potential: they stay cool and you dont feel their weight anymore, even on uneven grounds.
My previous Caterpillars hadn't suffered the slightest bit form mud, rain, snow, dirt or even fire (walking on hot flaming ashes happened to me once or twice...), just time. They kick out any other brand I've tested when it comes to reliability and longevity. I know I will keep my Indiana for 8 to 10 years, wearing them 365 days a year and walking 10000 miles.
These boots are made for working, and they do a hell of a job.

I've been wearing these boots for about a week, they are breaking in now but at first I was worried. The materials feel like they are good quality and the construction appears to be solid. These boots are a little on the heavy side, the tread pattern is fairly "aggressive", and it takes several days to get rid of the new boot/leather smell. The lowest lace hooks are on a piece of floating nylon strap, I guess you could remove it if you wanted but I don't get the point - it just makes lacing up slightly harder since you have a potentially moving target.

I have wide toes but my heal is normal, these boots (14Wide) are great for my toes but loose for the heal; my heal tends to move around more than previous boots but that has been getting better over time.

I work at an auto shop so i am on my feet all day constantly. These boots are extremely comfortable after the break in period (2-4 days), my feet aren't sore after a 10 hour day, and I absolutely love the feel of them . However the durability isn't quite "there" I had them for about 2 -3 months and then the stitching beneath the inner sole came loose , so the toe would bend if i was lifting a wheel with my feet or if i was on my knees. After about 4-6 months the steel toe busted through which wasn't a big deal and quite common in my line of work, but still kinda wished it lasted longer, and today the stitching halfway up the boot ripped as I was putting them on. as far as slip resistance goes it works OK (kind of feels like old sneakers on a dusty gym floor) but they're not something I would recommend for people that work with a lot of slipping hazards. This is a good boot if you just need steel toes and aren't going to be kicking a lot of things.

I so much used a pair of Indiana 8'' for more than a decade that they eventually got down-at-heel.
After some investigations I have fortunately found this new pair and got it in a quite short delivery time from Amazon.
I rate that shoe high bringing me security, comfort and quite waterproofing due to its high quality technology and robustness.
I use it broadly especially by winter conditions strolling in the country or in the mountains, the ankle and the foot well fitted on the large and thick rubber sole. I keep it at hand all year long.

Shortly after the return policy was up te eyelets fell apart, the laces fell apart, and the soles fell apart

This is the 4th pair I have bought of this exact model and I have LOVED the last 3. I've been buying them brand new off amazon since 2010. I usually buy 1 pair every year because I wear them every day to work. These are NOT the same as the older models! The part around your toes and front part of your foot is no longer real leather, and it makes my feet sweat like crazy! You can tell by looking at it closely that it's just upholstery. Other than that, the boot fits fine and seems well made, but Caterpillar is cheaping out now on the lowers, and it's very noticeable after about 30 mins of wearing them. I'll probably keep them, but I will not be buying Cat again after this. Probably going back to Carhartt. Overall still a well made boot, but if your feet are swimming after 1 hr of wear, what's the point?
