The Beebe is a lace-up chukka boot made from the highest quality materials. It features a full grain leather upper and wool liner. The wool liner is anti-microbial, all natural and heat regulating. Other features include leather welting, a comfort footbed and vibram outsole for traction and durability. For 180 years the wool rich name has stood for quality wool and innovative design.     I bough these boots because they seemed to look good and description boasted about the high quality materials. And with the $160 I was paying for them I figured that's what I'd get. Received the item and was immediately taken aback at how clearly cheap these boots appeared and felt. The leather looked like paper in how it began to wrinkle/crack at the lightest touch, and the laces felt like something you'd find on a pair of cheap dress shoes. Two other friends' opinions matched mine on how cheap these boots seemed. I was very disappointed and felt swindled. Returned. Waste of time.

    I've had these boots for about two Alaskan winters, and the only fault I can imagine for them, which was completely anticipated by their glued construction, is that the top leather separated a bit from the sole which was easily mended with some shoe goo. I've received numerous compliments on the look of these shoes even after paint flecks have stained them that I could not recommend another shoe more than I can this pair.

    I bought these for my brother to survive the winter months in Canada and he loves them. he wears them all day and they are still pristine looking. even though the salt on the streets tends to destroy most other shoes it has done nothing to the suede of this shoe. the grips on the bottom also help with the icy conditions

    Extremely comfortable, fit as expected, and kept my feet warm and dry. I was a little worried about wearing them in the rain, but they got me through the rainy Vancouver winter without getting my feet wet once. The vibram soles are also extremely useful on wet bricks and slippery ice. I've even hiked trails in these because of how much grip it provides.

    Apply some shoe wax to keep the leather supple and in good condition and these boots are golden.
