    Colorado - Foothills Bushwacker - Maybe some of you know Clear creek Canyon. Rugged steep and often rocky. 2 to 4 times a week year round. These boots hold up! and have very adequate torsional ridge edging and lots of support good lacing system low and high for the arch and ankle on steep rugged ups and downs.

    Backpacking and hunting good support and water proofing holds up well into the second year. Have carried some heavey loads over nasty stuff and these boots held up

    Light weight for a medium heavy boot. The lug sole bottoms have good traction however the weakness I see is that the shape of the heal on the sole causes some of the sole (lugs) to tear away prematurely. No problem around the front half of the boot only around the heals. Always looking for ways to get the shoe sole to last longer. ( The rugged terrain does go hard on them.)

    Average person should get 4 seasons out of them.

    These boots are very supportive, take very little breaking in and are nicely water resistant.
    Pro's: hard wearing, good grip (but like all boots a bit dicey on wet rocks), very protective, comfortable as a running shoe.
    Con's: toe box not as well designed as Keen boots, a bit warm in hot weather(probably to do with the goretex waterproofing).

    I was in great need of a good pair of high quality boots to wear when shooting pistols matches as well as for Deer Hunting this Fall. I needed them to be comfortable but also sturdy AND provide good ankle support as I have trouble with turning an ankle when hiking or walking over rough terrain. Well, these boots fit my needs perfectly. How did I know about them? Well, these boots are featured in the new Navy Seals Book, "No Easy Day" about the mission to get Osama Bin Laden. These boots were worn by the Navy Seal who wrote that book on that mission. Do these boots turn you into a Navy Seal? Well, no. But it can make you proud to be wearing them! However, if they were not comfortable, sturdy, ankle supporting boots I would not be writing this review. I have worn them to several pistol matches so far and I plan to wear them deer hunting next month as well. So far they have been the best boots that I have ever owned. I recommend them highly.

    This is by far the best hiking boot I have ever owned. As with all previous Salomon products I have purchased this boot is top notch in fit, quality, and comfort. I especially like the lacing system which allows independent tightening on the foot and ankle. You will not be disappointed in these boots.
