    For fit, because some Clarks' shoes fit larger than their marked size, I went to a bricks and mortar shoe store and determined the correct fit (size 10 instead of the usual 10 1/2 I wear in other brands) then, because the price at the bricks and mortar store was significantly higher than the price on Amazon.com, $220 Canadian, and the store doesn't price match, I didn't buy them at the store, I ordered them through Amazon.com. and saved approximately $100 Canadian even with shipping, customs/HST, and the exchange rate added to the Amazon.com price.

    The shoes are my favourite style, Chelsea, of which I have 3 pair made by other manufacturers. I chose these Clarks shoes because they look good, fit well, are comfortable to walk in, and are well made as are the other pairs of Clark shoes I own (Desert Trek, Wallabee). The upper leather quality is good, soft but firm, not thick and stiff like similarly priced and some higher priced chelsea style shoes. The sole is glued and thread stitched leather with a synthetic pad attached and the heel is synthetic. My only concern is the thinness of the sole and the attached synthetic pad which reduce the longevity of the shoes (I don't know if the soles and heels can be replaced). Because I own other shoes, I will wear rotate these with the others to be able to use them longer than if they are worn more often/daily.

    I probably have 4 different pairs of Clarks shoes and love these boots. A minor gripe when putting them on is I can't fit a finger into the little pull tabs. They must have a steel shank that sets off the TSA detector when I travel. Still, I find myself reaching for these instead of the more expensive Bruno Magli Raging that has been my daily dress shoe for several years.
