I had a pair of Sketchers I purchased years ago that lasted me awhile. It was comfortable. I believe the quality of Sketchers has diminished. This boot's surface started to crack in the sun like earth in the desert. Then the sole separated. Thank goodness for shoe goo. I use it to work in my yard now.

Other than going on a first date with a Match.com connection, nothing is riskier than buying shoes on-line. Despite having been burned on both, I gave these shoes a shot. First impressions: they are extremely well-constructed, but are a bit heavier than I anticipated. Not a reason not to buy, however. Depending on shoe, I wear anything from a 10EEE to an 11W, although I always start at 10 1/2 EE, as I did in this case (WW rather than EE). The fit is fine. Maybe a touch roomier than perfect, but I could not see anything getting anything smaller or larger. As the picture suggests, the sole is certain to outlive the wearer. In a word, I am very happy with the shoe, but not enough to ever go on a Match.com date again.

When I first recieved these boots I thought "not bad for $65.00 or so".
After wearing them for a few weeks trying to break in the left one a little
bit due to a bunyun. I find that there is no wear streach going on like I would
experience from a leather western boot say. I ride a Harley and started to see a
thin top layer of material flaking off the shoe where the shifter lever rides,
and where ever the lace eyelets rest against the tongue. These boots are covered
with a thin vinyl like layer that comes off rather easily. It is a dull gray color
underneath. I think the material these are made of is Cheezy at best. I won't
    be back for seconds.

I had a pair of Skechers Mariners a few years back that lasted for between four and five years' worth of 5-day-per-week wear, and I loved them. When they finally wore out completely (because I wore them well past when I should've retired them), I couldn't find them in stores anywhere and had to buy something else. Finally, I found them on Amazon last summer and ordered a pair. While they fit just like the old ones, they haven't held up anywhere near as well. In just over half a year's wear, the soles are separating from the foam rubber center on both boots. I'm very disappointed, as the previous pair were the best boots I've ever owned and are terribly missed.

I never give out the 5 stars lightly. These are -by far- my favorite shoe or boot for casual wear.
Classy enough to wear at the office with Khakis, but durable enough for mountain trail hiking. I probably wear my pairs 200 days a year, and they last just over a year; then I use the old pairs around the yard until they are really shot.
Well-built, and a good value. They clean up well. I always get additional insoles for them to help them feel comfortable on long walks, but that may be a need based on my weight, not so much the shoe/boot. Try 'em, you'll like 'em.

Not happy with this pair of shoes at all. Sketchers manufactures some of its shoes in the US. And I was under the impression this pair was made in the US. Not the case. Made in China. Big disappointment. I don't like the sole material. The sides are just a fraction too high and tend to hit under the ankle bone. And they shouldn't show a shoe with USA on the tongue medallion and ship something different. Poor job on this one.

Maybe I don't know where to find it but Amazon should put country of manufacture on all items sold. Especially shoes, clothing, and accessories.

Quality of "leather" is well below par and very stiff. Thus, shoe never really breaks in.
Toe box is too big, giving a loose fit that never feels comfortable.
Insole is glued in, so you can't replace it with something that would improve the feel.

Great fit. Good quality boot. This is the 2nd pair I purchased for my stepson. Excellent to be able to buy a wide fit boot.
